Look At Me! I'm Dancing In My Bathrobe!
The joys of working at home are many, but I have my favorite moments that make it seem even more worthwhile. I like to get a start on my work day early in the morning, before the rest of the household gets up. So I get up out of bed, put on my bathrobe and grab a warm, morning-time beverage before getting to work. I especially like the fact that getting to work takes about 5 minutes (including the commute from the kitchen to the office).
On one particular morning, my youngest son came into the office, still in his pj's (that's the dress code around here before 7am). He sat at his own computer and started to play one of his favorite games, which plays a catchy tune. The next thing I know, he took my hand, pulled me out of my chair, and wanted to dance to the song. We danced and danced around the room. We were both laughing so hard we could hardly speak! So here I was, at work, dancing with my son, in my bathrobe!
Moments like that are irreplaceable and I feel fortunate to able to stay home and experience them as often as I do. For those of you considering staying at home, I encourage you to do everything in your power to be able to do so. Even if staying at home isn't possible, remember to cherish each moment you have with your children. They'll be grown before you know it!
So no matter what, as often as you can, grab ahold of your kids' hands and "dance in your bathrobe"!!
